Failure to declare carries a maximum fine of €10,000; France plans to require declaration of self-hosted crypto wallets valued at over €100,000
Odaily reports that the French National Assembly passed an amendment to the 2027 finance bill on November 3, which would require the declaration of wallets directly held and not custodied by crypto asset service providers. Crypto assets in such wallets must be declared if their value reaches or exceeds €100,000 as of December 31 of the declaration year, with a maximum fine of €10,000 for failure to declare. The bill is still at the first-reading stage in the National Assembly.
