According to Odaily Planet Daily, Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook called the July jobs report "worrying" and suggested it could signal a turning point for the US economy. Cook said during a discussion organized by the Boston Fed on Wednesday that "these revisions are, to some extent, typical of turning points." Data released last week showed a sharp cooling of the labor market over the past few months. According to a report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, nonfarm payrolls increased by 73,000 in July, after significant downward revisions of nearly 260,000 in the previous two months. The unemployment rate rose slightly to 4.2% from 4.1% in June.
