Michael Saylor: Newly Elected Officials in Florida and Texas Both Support Bitcoin Reserves, Argument Is Crossing Party Lines
Odaily: Strategy founder and chairman Michael Saylor posted on X that Florida's newly elected Republican governor supports the establishment of a U.S. strategic Bitcoin reserve, while Texas's newly elected Democratic U.S. senator previously voted in favor of establishing a Bitcoin reserve in that state. He believes the case for holding Bitcoin is crossing party lines.
According to the post, Florida's newly elected governor Byron Donalds previously proposed H.R. 2112, a bill aimed at providing legal effect to an executive order establishing a federal strategic Bitcoin reserve and digital asset reserve. Texas's newly elected U.S. senator James Talarico, during his time as a state representative, voted in favor of the state's strategic Bitcoin reserve bill SB21, which was signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott in 2025.
