Today's Hot Topic: Musk Says New Clouds Will Face a Bloodbath, SpaceX Completes $40 Billion GPU Debt Financing
Odaily reports: Musk stated that SpaceX has completed $40 billion in GPU debt financing, noting that the company holds an investment-grade rating, with revenue from Starlink and its rocket launch business supporting the financing. Related information indicates that these GPUs are expected to be delivered in Q1 and Q2 of 2027.
Speaking on AI infrastructure financing, Musk said that in recent weeks, the debt market has essentially closed its financing channels to companies that lack substantial revenue from sources other than AI data centers. He predicted that only a few of the more than 200 new cloud service providers will survive, and that the industry will see bankruptcies and consolidation. Musk also expressed concern that developers may lose financing before data centers are completed, leaving expensive computing power stranded.
Regarding speculation that SpaceX might acquire struggling new cloud service providers, Musk denied it, saying SpaceX will not acquire such companies. Others on social media have also asked whether Musk is shorting CRWV, but this is merely speculation, with no evidence indicating that he has shorted the stock.
