Arthur Hayes says the high-FDV, low-float token model has fallen out of favor
Odaily reports: In his keynote speech at TOKEN2049 Singapore, Arthur Hayes stated that high-FDV, low-float tokens no longer rise after listing on Binance, and criticized VC presales for abusing tokenomics and leaving retail investors to bear the bag. He said this model has dominated the industry for over a decade, but the market is no longer buying into it. Flop Labs has proposed a "100% fair launch" scheme with no presale and no VC allocation, instead having testnet participants earn FLOP through actual work and receive airdrops. The genesis airdrop accounts for approximately 24.3% of the Year 10 supply, about 4.4 billion tokens, with a total supply of 18.1 billion; the launch is planned for late October or early November 2026 and will last about 90 days, with mainnet genesis set for Q1 2027. Flop Labs is funded by Hayes personally; Hayes stated that FLOP is not yet trading and that any early sales are scams.
