Odaily reports: Liu Jun, President of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), stated at the inaugural Digital RMB Annual Meeting held during the 2026 Financial Street Forum Annual Conference that technology can only reinforce trust, not replace it. Whether a digital currency can become a currency hinges on how credit is supported and honored, and how responsibility is implemented. If algorithms or pegged assets lack transparent regulation, or if trust is built solely on an impenetrable technological "black box," its credit system cannot be established, and its value foundation will be fragile.
Liu Jun pointed out that digital currencies offer new possibilities for cross-border settlement, but technology cannot create a currency's international status out of thin air—the discourse power of digitally anchored currencies ultimately depends on comprehensive national strength. RMB internationalization requires the introduction of diverse market participants and the establishment of a global regulatory coordination mechanism and regulatory technology that keep pace with the times.

The attacker deposited 1,111.2 ETH into Tornado Cash on October 20, then withdrew it to 3 addresses, and subsequently bridged the funds from Ethereum to Tron via USDT0, consolidating them into 2 addresses. All of the above consolidation addresses have fund connections to addresses previously attributed to North Korea. The funds then flowed through intermediary addresses to Chinese OTC desks within minutes. ZachXBT believes this move may have been intended to circumvent a potential Tether freeze.
PPP prediction market tool monitoring shows that on Polymarket, the probability of "Tesla and SpaceX to officially announce merger by December 31" has risen to 23%, up 7% in 24 hours.
According to the resolution rules, if before 23:59 (US Eastern Time) on December 31, 2026, Tesla or SpaceX officially announces that the two parties will undergo, are undergoing, or have completed an acquisition or merger, the market will resolve as "Yes"; otherwise, it will resolve as "No." As long as a formal announcement is made before the deadline, it qualifies for a "Yes" resolution regardless of whether the transaction is ultimately completed. Partial equity acquisitions may also count, but the acquirer must obtain control of the other company (typically more than 50% equity or equivalent control); investments or transactions that do not involve a transfer of control do not count.
Resolution is primarily based on official announcements from Tesla or SpaceX, and may also reference consistent reporting from multiple credible media outlets.

Odaily Report: Ripple's brokerage business Ripple Prime (formerly Hidden Road) has since October 15 opened round-the-clock equity, commodity, and currency swap trading to institutional clients, covering more than 100 markets and supporting the use of the U.S. dollar stablecoin RLUSD as margin. Trading firm Virtu has already used the service. The swaps track perpetual contracts listed on the Trade.xyz platform within the Hyperliquid ecosystem, have no expiry date, and support 24-hour trading, allowing funds to trade assets such as gold while traditional markets are closed, with clients managing margin and risk through Ripple Prime.
Daragh Maher, Head of Digital Asset Research at HSBC, said in a client report that the service represents "an evolution rather than a revolution," and warned that limited liquidity could constrain large trades. Before order book depth develops, activity may be concentrated more in basis trades by market makers, proprietary trading firms, and hedge funds. This month, a case emerged in which nearly $52 million in leveraged chip stock positions were liquidated within 10 minutes.
