Odaily News — According to an official announcement, the on-chain burn of GateToken (GT) for the third quarter of 2026 has been completed. A total of 1,987,321.2431520 GT was transferred to the burn address, with a burn value exceeding $22.35 million. As of now, the cumulative burn total of GT has reached 191,934,541 tokens, with a cumulative burn value exceeding $1.504 billion (calculated at the quarterly average price).
GT is the core platform token of Gate and the native asset of Gate Chain. It serves as a utility token and gas fee payment token on Gate Chain, supporting basic functions such as on-chain transfers within the network. Since the launch of Gate Chain's mainnet in 2019, GT has continuously implemented its burn mechanism, reducing the total token supply by approximately 63.98% from the initial 300 million. In terms of market performance, GT has shown notable upward momentum recently, rising 32.49% over the past 30 days and 63.63% over the past 90 days. Going forward, Gate will continue to advance the GT burn mechanism, strengthening GT's scarcity and long-term value foundation through sustained reduction of market supply and optimization of the token supply structure.

Odaily News: As Chinese AI labs such as DeepSeek continue to make progress, the performance lead of top U.S. AI models over Chinese models has narrowed to about 3%, down from about 9% in May this year and 15% at the beginning of the year, reaching a record low.
DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, released in September, ranked sixth globally on LiveBench with a score of 81.1, approaching Anthropic's highest score of 83.4. Odaily News: On October 1, the Ethereum Foundation and Open Anonymity Project launched zkAPI on the Ethereum mainnet. The system allows users to pre-deposit ETH, USDC, and other balances, separating billing identity from requests when paying for AI and other usage-based services.
After depositing funds, users can authorize payments via zero-knowledge proofs and one-time API keys. Once the server verifies the payment proof, it generates a short-term key with a preset spending cap. AI service providers can receive prompts but will not learn the corresponding payment identity.
zkAPI does not hide prompt content, and AI service providers can still read prompts and responses; stable IP addresses, timing patterns, and repetitive behavior may also link user identities. The project's code repository labels zkAPI as an experimental project. (Bitcoin.com News)
Odaily reports: Crypto analyst Darkfost stated on X that Bitcoin spot trading volume has seen a moderate rebound since hitting a low in July, but the overall recovery remains limited. Among major exchanges, Binance's spot trading volume rose to over $50 billion in September, up from $42 billion in July; Bybit's spot trading volume increased from $14 billion in July to $19 billion; Kraken rose from $4 billion to $8 billion.
Darkfost noted that when Bitcoin hit its phase low in July, spot trading volume also fell to its lowest level since the last bear market, reflecting the weakest market interest in BTC in nearly 3 years. Since then, spot trading volume has picked up somewhat, but no significant recovery has yet emerged. Typically, moderate growth in spot trading volume accompanies a new round of upward momentum for Bitcoin, but if BTC wants to challenge new highs, the market still needs further increases in spot trading volume, especially new demand.

Odaily News: The Drift Foundation posted a response to community concerns, stating that DFX is not pegged to 1 USDT. For every 1 USDT of confirmed loss, users receive 1 DFX, but the ultimate redemption value of DFX depends on the balance of funds in the Recovery Pool at the time of redemption.

Odaily reports that Yi Lihua, founder of Liquid Capital, stated in a post that the ongoing decline of the crypto primary market is mainly driven by four factors: first, traditional narratives ranging from whitepapers and institutional backing to TVL wash trading are gradually losing effectiveness; second, project supply is severely oversupplied, with tens of thousands of projects competing, making it significantly harder for quality projects to stand out; third, the "1+3" unlock mechanism is unfavorable to VCs; fourth, the listing costs on top-tier CEXs are prohibitively high, pushing primary market projects to seek higher valuations and larger-scale fundraising.
Yi Lihua believes that reversing the current situation requires joint efforts from leading industry participants, including improving the listing screening mechanisms of top CEXs like Binance, abolishing the "1+3" unlock mechanism, and pushing crypto projects to return to real revenue and token buybacks, so that through performance growth and value sharing, secondary market investors can genuinely identify quality projects.
