New Ethereum Proposal Aims to Allow EOAs to Permanently Disable EIP-7702 Delegation Feature

Odaily reports that on October 30, developer nicolashw submitted a draft Ethereum Core Improvement Proposal that would allow externally owned accounts (EOAs) to permanently disable the EIP-7702 delegation feature while retaining their original address, regular transfer, and contract invocation capabilities. The operation is irreversible and, unlike merely clearing current delegations, prevents the account from authorizing smart contract code to run on its behalf in the future; however, it cannot prevent fund transfers after a private key leak, nor can it revoke existing token approvals, and it may also affect account recovery and asset access that rely on the delegation feature. The draft has not yet been merged and has not received an official EIP number; if adopted, it would still need to be activated through an Ethereum network upgrade.
