GTA 6 Leaker Cashes Out via Meme Coin, Sells Before Official Gameplay Reveal

2026-08-27 16:51

Odaily News - An anonymous hacker suspected of leaking unreleased gameplay footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) has cashed out after launching a related Meme coin, $CYBERLEEK, just before Rockstar's official gameplay reveal.

According to on-chain data, $CYBERLEEK rode the hype of the GTA 6 leaked footage, with its market cap surging to approximately $25 million within 9 days. The token appeared in the watermark of the leaked video, accompanied by the slogan "The higher the market cap, the more leaks."

However, just hours before Rockstar's first official GTA 6 gameplay reveal, the token creator allegedly sold their entire holdings. Data shows the contract owner claimed approximately $146,000 in Wrapped SOL and 15.4 million creator fee tokens, subsequently selling these tokens for approximately $125,000 in SOL.

Some on-chain analysts estimate the total cash-out amount from this incident could exceed $250,000, with the funds subsequently distributed across multiple new wallets, with a portion of the SOL flowing to KuCoin. The relevant data has not yet been confirmed by the leaker or the exchange.

Previously, Take-Two's Rockstar issued a statement regarding the GTA 6 leak, saying the incident "broke the team's hearts." Reports indicate Take-Two has issued subpoenas to X, Microsoft, and Discord in an attempt to identify the leaker. (CoinDesk)
