Given the conditions for taxation information, South Korea says it can tax investors using U.S. exchanges after 2029

Odaily News: South Korean Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Lee Hyoung-il said on the same day that the government has decided to postpone the imposition of virtual asset income tax by two years to 2029. Lee Hyoung-il stated that if virtual asset transaction information can be obtained from the United States after 2029, the government will have sufficient information to tax investors using U.S. exchanges. The government will also establish and operate a public-private joint task force on digital asset taxation to promote the rationalization of the taxation system and the expansion of infrastructure, and to accelerate the legislation of the Digital Asset Act.
