50 companies oppose OKXICE's stock tokenization plan, with 12 new companies including Nvidia added

Odaily reports: OKXICE has disclosed that 12 additional companies have opposed its stock tokenization plan, including Nvidia, Costco, Nike, Reddit, and CrowdStrike, bringing the total number of companies that have formally filed objections to 50, accounting for approximately 79% of the 63 companies originally proposed for inclusion.

The newly added objecting companies also include Palo Alto Networks, Micron Technology, Corning, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, IREN, USA Rare Earth, and Bloom Energy. The 50 companies have a combined market capitalization of approximately $25 trillion, with more than half listed on Nasdaq and 42% listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

OKXICE is a joint venture between cryptocurrency exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), planning to launch blockchain-based tokenized U.S. stocks that support continuous trading for investors. The proposal intends to use actual shares held by a registered broker-dealer as backing, with transactions completed through stablecoins and OKX's permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools on the X Layer chain.
