Community vote supports research into transitioning to an independent L1, Starknet migration not yet approved
Odaily reports: Starknet posted on X that during Token2049, Eli Ben-Sasson raised the question of whether Starknet should transition to an independent L1 to advance the construction of a quantum-safe network. The first round of non-binding community voting concluded on October 22, with results showing overwhelming support for conducting research on the proposal, though the vote itself did not approve a migration or determine a construction plan for the L1. A joint working group composed of StarkWare and the Starknet Foundation is studying the relevant technical benefits, security assumptions, trade-offs, and implications, and will publish a research paper for community review.
