Analysis: Nearly 60% of Stock Token Trading on Robinhood Chain Occurs Outside Regular US Market Hours, Highlighting On-Chain Weekend Trading Advantage
Odaily reports: Crypto researcher Tom Wan posted on X that from September 24 to October 23, DEX trading volume of stock tokens on Robinhood Chain reached $3.68 billion, with 59% occurring outside regular US stock market trading hours.
Specifically, trading volume during regular trading hours was $1.5 billion, accounting for 41%; pre-market trading volume was $677 million, accounting for 18%; overnight trading volume was $608 million, accounting for 17%; weekend trading volume was $532 million, accounting for 14%; and after-hours trading volume was $363 million, accounting for 10%.
Tom Wan noted that Nasdaq and NYSE Arca, owned by the New York Stock Exchange, plan to launch a trading mechanism on December 6 that operates 5 days a week, 23 hours a day, but this can only cover part of the overnight trading demand and is mainly aimed at investors who already have access to the US stock market. Weekend trading remains a unique advantage of on-chain markets.
