IMF: Over Half of Tokenized US Stock Trades Occur Outside Regular Trading Hours, Market Still Faces Liquidity and Stability Risks
Odaily: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) noted that tokenized US stocks support 24/7 trading and fractional share ownership, with over half of trades occurring outside regular market trading hours and approximately 80% of trades involving less than 1 share.
The IMF stated that overnight price movements contain valid information, with over 85% of these price changes being reflected in traditional stock prices within 5 minutes of market open.
The IMF pointed out that the tokenized stock market remains relatively small and fragmented, and while it can improve settlement and automation processes, enhanced legal, liquidity, and interoperability safeguards are needed. (CoinDesk)
