OpenAI says it is working with Samsung to develop next-generation chips and deepen collaboration

Odaily Planet Daily News: At a press conference held in Seoul on Wednesday, OpenAI's Korea General Manager Harrison Kim stated, "One of the areas where our collaboration with Samsung Electronics has seen the most significant progress and recognition is the joint production and research of next-generation chips we are developing." Kim also noted that Samsung Electronics is "one of the largest enterprises globally applying ChatGPT," pointing out that the company's employees in both Korea and overseas have been using ChatGPT in research, marketing, and sales efforts.

Kim added that as chip technology required for faster and more complex computing continues to upgrade, demand for memory chips will keep growing, making collaboration with Korean semiconductor suppliers a priority for OpenAI's local office.
