Nvidia to Invest $3.5 Billion in Chipmaker MediaTek
Odaily News Nvidia and MediaTek are deepening their long-term partnership, with Nvidia investing $3.5 billion in MediaTek convertible bonds to jointly build an AI computing platform from edge to cloud. MediaTek will adopt the new NVIDIA NVLink Fusion platform, helping customers bring custom XPUs to rack-scale AI factories connected via NVLink.
Nvidia and MediaTek are collaborating in three key areas: ① AI Infrastructure: MediaTek will work with Nvidia's NVLink Fusion ecosystem to help customers develop custom AI infrastructure designed to integrate with Nvidia's rack-scale systems and AI factories. ② On-Device AI Computing: The two companies will continue their multi-generational collaboration on NVIDIA RTX Spark™ and DGX Spark™ PC chips, powering consumer PCs, AI development supercomputers, and enterprise workstations. These chips integrate Nvidia GPUs with MediaTek SoCs. ③ Automotive: MediaTek and Nvidia will continue developing AI-driven software-defined vehicle platforms in the era of physical AI. (Jin Shi)
