Nvidia Expands Robotics Collaboration with Japanese Firms to Accelerate Physical AI Deployment

2026-07-16 04:08

Odaily Planet Daily News Nvidia (NVDA.O) announced it will expand cooperation in the field of robotics development with four leading Japanese industrial automation companies, further advancing Jensen Huang's strategy to build out its AI hardware business. Fujitsu, Fanuc, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Yaskawa Electric will join the Cosmos Alliance led by Nvidia. The alliance aims to accelerate the adoption of Nvidia's platform for developing what the industry terms "Physical AI." Physical AI encompasses a wide range of hardware applications, including humanoid robots, factory automation, autonomous vehicles, as well as intelligent buildings and rail transit systems. Hitachi, NEC, Komatsu, and Kubota will also join the alliance.

The announcement of this collaboration follows a series of new technologies released by Nvidia this week aimed at accelerating robot development. The company launched Cosmos 3-H, a lightweight version of its world foundation model designed for Physical AI development that can run on edge computing devices. It also unveiled two robot computers, the Jetson T3000 and Jetson T2000, positioned between its flagship T4000 series and the AGX Orin platform. (Jin Shi)
