Trump says he will not give up pressure on Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz
Odaily News Trump stated in an interview with CBS News that he is "not ready yet" to give up efforts to force Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. A CBS reporter called Trump on Tuesday morning local time, asking him to clarify his previous remarks suggesting he might abandon related actions. Trump reiterated his dissatisfaction with other countries for not sending military forces to participate in the U.S.-Israel military operations against Iran but said he is not yet prepared to have the U.S. withdraw from the conflict. "I will do it at some point, but not now. Other countries must step in and handle it themselves. Iran has been weakened, but they must complete the relevant work themselves." Trump also reiterated that despite Iran continuing to attack ships and infrastructure in Persian Gulf countries, there is "no real threat" in the Strait of Hormuz. "Let them fight for it themselves. They are unwilling to help anyone. NATO is terrible, they are all terrible. So if they want oil, they should go get it themselves." Trump said. (Jin10)
