Odaily Planet Daily reports that the iconic pink beanie behind the Solana meme coin WIF sold for 6.8 BTC (approximately $794,000 USD) on the Bitcoin Ordinals platform Ord City. The buyer was "Finn," the founder of Bags, the Solana meme coin issuance platform. The 48-hour auction was previously suspended due to falsely high bids but was later reopened with increased collateral requirements.

Finn said that part of the funds for the woolen hat came from the transaction fees of Bags' launch of the token "BUY THE HAT", and said that he plans to give the hat back to the community in some way in the future.

A Dogwifhat photo NFT sold on the Foundation platform in March 2024 for 1210.8 ETH (valued at approximately $4.3 million at the time), significantly higher than the price paid for the physical cap. The WIF token is currently trading at $0.92, up approximately 3.2% over the past 24 hours, but has fallen over 70% since its NFT auction peak, with a current market capitalization of nearly $1 billion.
