US media: One Pennsylvania county is missing thousands of ballots
2024-11-03 13:49:13
Odaily News According to U.S. media reports, a state judge in Pennsylvania found that a mail-in ballot vendor contracted by the Erie County Election Commission failed to meet demand, and 13,000 to 17,000 Erie County voters may not have received their ballots in time for next Tuesday's general election. Judge David Ridge ordered the election commission to remain open on Friday and Saturday so that voters can request and fill out ballots. In addition to the thousands of voters who may not have received their ballots, the judge also found that approximately 1,200 out-of-state voters who registered to vote in Erie County may not have received their mail-in ballots. Considering that what the judge called an "unknown number" of people may not have been counted, he raised the possibility that more than 20,000 ballots may not have reached voters. (Jin Shi)
