The U.S. military is ready to launch a new large-scale operation against Iran, able to strike within 96 hours of receiving orders
Odaily reports: Two U.S. officials stated that U.S. forces in the Middle East are prepared to launch a new round of military operations against Iran within 96 hours once they receive orders from President Donald Trump, and the scale of the operation could be considerable. Sources said the U.S. forces currently deployed in the region are already sufficient to carry out potential strike missions. Sources also said the scope of the new round of U.S. military operations may no longer be limited to strikes on Iranian radar, missile launchers, and other military assets that can be quickly restored. Such operations are often described as "mowing the lawn," aimed at periodically weakening the opponent's military capabilities. The U.S. military has been taking a similar approach since Trump halted full-scale combat operations earlier this year.
A U.S. official said: "This will be a large-scale operation." Other current and former officials familiar with internal discussions of U.S. military operational planning expressed similar views. Some of them believe the question is not whether Trump will order an attack, but when. They believe the order could come at any time before the end of this year, but is more likely to come after the U.S. midterm elections conclude. (CNN)
