Solana Foundation Chair Responds to Shanghai Event Postponement: Registrations Surged to 4 Times the Original Number, Exceeding the Declared Capacity Limit
Odaily News: Solana Foundation Chair Lily Liu posted on the X platform in response to the postponement of the Shanghai event, stating that due to previous promotional activities such as the light show on the exterior wall of the Citigroup Tower in Lujiazui, Shanghai, registrations for the Solana Shanghai event grew overnight to 4 times the original number, far exceeding the attendee cap declared to local government authorities.
Lily Liu stated that because it was difficult to control the potentially excessive crowd flow at the venue, and in order to comply with relevant local requirements, the team decided to postpone the event and reschedule it after having more adequate capacity to accommodate attendees.
She also stated that the Solana light show on the evening of October 14 was intended to express appreciation and gratitude to the Chinese community, and she apologized to all community members who had planned to attend the event.
