MegaETH will launch its TGE today, along with the Terminal Odyssey event. Over the next 8 weeks, MegaETH will allocate 2.5% of its total MEGA token supply as airdrop rewards.

This event uses a points-based ranking system. Users can earn points by using MegaETH ecosystem applications, completing interactions, providing liquidity, or participating in various activities. Airdrop rewards will be distributed based on the final ranking. In other words, MegaETH has entered a new farming season, and Terminal will be the core entry point for the next 8 weeks.

This article outlines how to participate in the MegaETH Odyssey event from four aspects: Terminal setup, highlighted apps for the first week, specific interaction paths, and participation strategies.

Setting up MegaETH Terminal

For the next 8 weeks, MegaETH Terminal will be the core entry point for user interactions. On the Terminal page, users can see the featured apps for the week, their total points, and their leaderboard ranking. Additionally, there are other functionalities at the bottom of the page, which will be introduced one by one later.

First, go to the interaction website (link: https://terminal.megaeth.com). It is recommended to log in directly with your wallet (If you participated in the MegaETH presale before, you can use the wallet you used at that time). After completing the registration, you will enter the Terminal main page.

Next, complete some preliminary settings before starting the actual interaction, as follows:

• Account Funds: If you don't have funds on MegaETH yet, you can bridge them in here (link: http://rabbithole.megaeth.com/bridge);
• Booster Section in Terminal: Here you can see what boosts your account is eligible for. Boosters cannot be activated manually, but some boosts might already be automatically added to your account. For example, if you participated in a certain round of the MegaETH presale, or if you have been active on MegaETH in the past, you may have already received corresponding boosts;
• Clan Section in Terminal: Choose a Clan. These are essentially NFT communities, but you don't need to hold the corresponding NFT to join a clan. Just pick one you like. The core idea when choosing a Clan is to determine which Clan will likely end up with the most pledges.

Overview of MegaETH Ecosystem Applications

Simply put, points are mainly earned by using applications within the MegaETH ecosystem. How points are specifically calculated hasn't been made public, but it's likely related to the level of participation and the amount of funds used. Also, note that while you can participate in all applications and it is recommended to cover as many as possible, the weekly Booster can only be assigned to 3 applications. You can do this operation in the top right corner of the Terminal. A safer approach is to try out different applications first, determine the direction you want to focus on most, and then allocate your Booster.

This article focuses on the applications officially recommended for the first week of the points event, as well as a few other noteworthy applications.

Kumbaya

Type: DEX

Currently, Kumbaya is expected to be the primary DEX used on MegaETH.

To earn points, you can do basic operations like Swaps. Or, a more effective way is to provide liquidity for USDm (MegaETH's native stablecoin). Here are the specific steps:

1. Visit the interaction website: https://kumbaya.xyz;
2. Create a new Kumbaya native wallet;
3. Send ETH from MegaETH to this newly created wallet;
4. Connect this new wallet to MegaETH Terminal. On the Terminal profile page, there will be a clear connect button;
5. Swap some ETH for USDm and USDT0 on MegaETH;
6. Then go to this pool: https://kumbaya.xyz/#/pool/0x6c8E5D463a2473b1A8bcd87e1cEA2724203A1D8f-4326;
7. On the right side of the page, you'll see "Add Liquidity". Add the USDm and USDT0 you just swapped;
8. Then, leave the funds in the pool for 8 weeks (you can withdraw anytime).

Additionally, you can interact with Kumbaya's Launchpad, for example, by buying one or two Meme coins that have already graduated.

Type: Perps / GameFi

HitOne is an interesting perpetuals-type application. In short, you can put in $1 to $50 per round, and HitOne will randomly open a high-leverage position, which could be long or short, typically with leverage over 400x. The specific steps are as follows:

Card pack prices range from $50 to $1250. Generally, you might expect to lose around 20% per pack on average, unless you are very lucky. The specific steps are:

3. Click on the profile page in the top right corner;
4. You can see your wallet there, then transfer some USDm;

Booster Packs use a dynamic pricing mechanism, meaning the price increases with each purchase. So, if you plan to participate, buying earlier might be better. The specific steps are:

3. Set a username;

Selecting Key Applications to Use

While using all applications daily might yield the best ROI, a smarter approach might be to focus on 3 applications each week and concentrate your efforts on them. This is the purpose of the Booster mechanism.

Point allocation is determined by actual user usage, not by the subjective preference of the MegaETH team. So, the best strategy is probably to choose applications you would use even without a farming season.

Strategies for Participating in the MegaETH Odyssey Event

This is a Long Game, Play it Long

Season 1 will last for 8 weeks. This isn't exceptionally long, but it's long enough for many people to lose patience after the second week. A truly high-ROI approach isn't to rush in during the first week and then move on to something else, but to maintain consistent activity throughout the entire period.

It's recommended to do some on-chain operations on MegaETH every day. Also, the points currently visible in Terminal mainly come from records of past participation in the USDm pre-deposit event. So, don't worry too much if you don't have many points right now.

You Can Spend Money, But Spend It Wisely

Participating in staking to earn points often requires spending some funds, unless you choose a very conservative method, like just providing liquidity for USDm/USDT0.

For activities like Pokémon-style card packs, Fantasy Football, and Perps, you should expect potential losses.
