Odaily — Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas posted on X that he wrote earlier this year predicting that the Federal Reserve would at some point in the future purchase equity ETFs through the Treasury in a similar manner. China and Japan are helping to gradually normalize this practice; he believes that within the next 5 to 10 years, the U.S. market may come to view it as a normal occurrence.
Odaily: CZ posted that no crypto wallet can be absolutely secure, and there is no software completely free of vulnerabilities or technology that is 100% secure. He pointed out that any action carries risk, and so does inaction; problems, setbacks, and challenges that need to be resolved are also inevitable along the way. CZ advised users to stay up to date, manage risk well, and actively solve problems.

Odaily Report: Since October, global hedge funds have accelerated the build-up of short positions, with bearish bets approaching a five-year historical peak. Goldman Sachs Prime Brokerage data shows that the ratio of short trades to long buys has reached approximately 5 to 1. Should a catalyst for a rebound in market sentiment emerge, highly crowded short positions could trigger a violent short squeeze.
Goldman Sachs Prime Brokerage books show that its global equity short leverage ratio has now risen to the 99th percentile of the past five years. Although gross leverage has recovered somewhat, the net leverage of fundamental long/short funds—a measure of the extent to which longs exceed shorts—has fallen to a near three-year low.

Odaily reports: Katie Harries, Head of European Policy at Coinbase, wrote that the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)'s proposed cryptoasset regulatory rules may require regulated platforms to execute client orders only on FCA-authorized trading venues, thereby restricting users from accessing decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols through compliant platforms. Since decentralized protocols typically have no entity that can apply for regulatory authorization, the relevant rules may prevent regulated platforms from offering DeFi access services, creating a de facto ban; the related crypto regulatory regime is expected to take effect from October 25, 2027.
Odaily reports: Katie Harries, Head of European Policy at Coinbase, wrote that the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)'s proposed crypto asset regulatory rules could require regulated platforms to execute client orders only on FCA-authorized trading venues, thereby restricting users from accessing decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols through compliant platforms. Since decentralized protocols typically have no entity that can apply for regulatory authorization, the proposed rules could prevent regulated platforms from offering DeFi access services, constituting a de facto ban. The relevant crypto regulatory regime is expected to take effect on October 25, 2027.
Harries argues that a blanket restriction on DeFi access will not eliminate the activity but may instead push more transactions into channels that regulators cannot effectively monitor. She calls on the FCA to adopt an approach of "regulating the access point, not blocking the technology," allowing compliant platforms to offer DeFi access services provided they clearly disclose risks to users, obtain user consent, and assess protocol operational and governance risks. She also noted that the EU and the US are exploring the integration of traditional finance with DeFi infrastructure, and the UK should also preserve space for such innovation. (Cointelegraph)
Odaily reports: Fintech company SoFi has launched SoFi Earn (SOFIE), calling it the first tokenized deposit from a nationwide U.S. bank offered to consumers. Each SOFIE corresponds to $1 in SoFi Bank deposits, with holders earning a 4.40% annual percentage yield, and funds covered by Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insurance up to applicable limits.
Users can convert SOFIE 1:1 into SoFiUSD, then use it to purchase cryptocurrencies within the SoFi app, or transfer U.S. dollars around the clock via blockchain networks. SoFi stated that the product is designed to allow digital dollars to continue generating yield before they are used.
SoFi Earn is the fifth crypto product SoFi has launched in under a year. SoFi resumed cryptocurrency trading in late 2025 and currently supports trading of more than 40 tokens; its SoFiUSD is already deployed on Ethereum and Solana and is used to settle all of SoFi's card programs. (Decrypt)
Odaily reports: Crypto data analytics platform Dune has announced the launch of real-time market data streams, with spot trading data available within approximately 1 second after a trade is executed, covering more than 200 on-chain trading platforms across 12 blockchain networks, including Solana, Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, and X Layer; perpetual contract data streams will track trading on Hyperliquid and Lighter.
Dune co-founder and CEO Fredrik Haga stated that on-chain trading currently accounts for approximately 25% of total crypto spot trading volume, and as tokenized asset trading develops, market demand for on-chain data continues to grow. Dune said the new data service will help hedge funds, asset managers, market makers, and brokers track on-chain price discovery within their existing market data systems. The company also noted that OKXICE, a joint venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), has submitted an application to list 63 tokenized stocks on X Layer. (The Block)
Odaily: Blockchain travel platform Travala has announced the launch of the AVA Buyback Multiplier mechanism, which dynamically adjusts the platform's matching buyback multiplier based on the AVA rebate rewards that AVA Smart members receive each month. When monthly member rebate rewards reach $100,000, $150,000, $200,000, and $250,000, Travala's matching buyback multiplier will rise to 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, and 3x respectively, corresponding to a total buyback scale by the foundation and Travala of up to 4x the member rewards. If member rewards are below $100,000, Travala's matching buyback multiplier is 1x.
Travala stated that the foundation repurchases the AVA distributed to members in the previous month on a monthly basis, and Travala then conducts matching buybacks at the corresponding multiplier, permanently locking the purchased tokens in the AVA Strategic Reserve multisig wallet, with a commitment not to sell or transfer them. As of the announcement, the AVA Foundation has cumulatively repurchased 5,423,181 AVA; the strategic reserve holds 598,458.78 AVA after the most recent two rounds of matching buybacks. Related transactions can be verified through on-chain records.
Odaily: Indian crypto exchange CoinDCX has released an update on the on-chain activity of the TQKJQ wallet, stating that following the July 2025 security incident, some previously generated deposit addresses were compromised and deactivated, yet some users continued to transfer crypto assets to these expired addresses. The platform would normally periodically sweep such funds for accounting and safekeeping purposes, but the relevant process failed for a period of time and was discovered this morning, resulting in certain operational losses for the platform, which CoinDCX will bear.
CoinDCX stated that despite users depositing to expired addresses, the accounts of affected users have all been credited accordingly. The platform said user funds remain safe, customer assets continue to be held in separate cold wallets, the active addresses currently used by the platform and users are unaffected, and platform funds in active wallets have not been compromised. Currently, the CoinDCX platform and all trading activities are operating normally. The platform reminds users to verify the latest deposit addresses through the official app or website to avoid transferring funds to deactivated addresses.

Odaily: AI infrastructure startup Fireworks AI is in preliminary talks for a new funding round, targeting a valuation of $30 billion to $40 billion, a potential increase of up to 10x from its $4 billion Series C valuation in October 2025. The negotiations are still at an early stage, and the target valuation may change. The company declined to comment, and the report did not disclose the size of the round.
Fireworks AI was founded in 2022 by engineers from Meta's open-source AI framework PyTorch team, and provides enterprises with services to customize and deploy open-source models based on their own data. In July 2026, the company announced the completion of a $1.505 billion Series D at a valuation of $17.5 billion, saying its annualized revenue had surpassed $1 billion and its daily token processing volume had grown from 15 trillion at the time of its previous funding round to more than 40 trillion. If the proposed valuation reaches $40 billion, it would be equivalent to roughly 40 times its previously disclosed annualized revenue. (Business Insider)
