South Korea's Ministry of Unification: No discussions yet on sanctions over North Korea's alleged theft of over $6 billion in Binance assets
Odaily: A South Korean Ministry of Unification official stated that the South Korean government has not yet begun discussions on imposing sanctions on North Korea over the alleged theft of a large amount of cryptocurrency. The official said the government has not yet fully grasped the specific details of the hacking incident, and therefore has not reached the stage of discussing response measures, with internal information sharing and discussions still ongoing.
Previously, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) accused North Korea of involvement in the hacking incident that stole over $6 billion in crypto assets from Binance. Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, denied the allegations earlier this week and called them a "serious political provocation" against North Korea. (Yonhap)
