Analysis: Trump Says "Inflation Is Solved," but the Data Says Otherwise

Polling shows that Republicans have lost their electoral advantage on economic issues. In July 2025, six months into Trump's term, the share of voters who believed congressional Republicans were better than Democrats at handling the economy was 12 percentage points higher. But a recent Wall Street Journal poll found that the share of voters who now believe Democrats are doing a better job on the economy is 3 percentage points higher instead.
