Anthropic Open-Sources Zero-Knowledge Proof System FlashProve
Odaily Report: Anthropic has released FlashProve, an open-source AI inference verification system based on zero-knowledge proofs (zkSNARK), with StarkWare co-founder Alessandro Chiesa participating in the research. The system leverages cryptographic methods derived from the same lineage as blockchain ZK technology, enabling users to verify whether an AI output was generated by a specified model without obtaining model weights or re-running the model.
Anthropic stated that Claude participated in the system optimization, and the relevant code and Lean formal proofs have now been open-sourced. The system is still in the research prototype stage, with the GPU time overhead for proof generation approximately 70–95 times that of ordinary inference.
Tests show that FlashProve, on a single H100 GPU, can generate proofs for Meta's 400-billion-parameter model Llama 4 Maverick at a rate of approximately 110 tokens per second, with each proof approximately 19 MB.
