US crypto industry spends about $63 million to block Sherrod Brown from returning to the Senate

Odaily reports: The U.S. crypto industry is spending approximately $63 million in an effort to prevent former Senator Sherrod Brown from returning to Congress in the Ohio election. Among this, the crypto industry super PAC Fairshake has contributed nearly $56 million, while the Winklevoss brothers' political action committee has put in another approximately $7.2 million. Combined with 2024 election spending, the crypto industry's political investment targeting Brown over the past two years has exceeded $100 million.

The latest polling shows Brown slightly ahead of incumbent Senator Jon Husted, but most poll margins remain within the margin of error. Prediction market Kalshi gives Brown a 68% probability of winning, while also predicting a 68% probability that Democrats will regain control of the Senate. (CoinDesk)
