Google Launches Crypto Asset Custody Platform for Banks, Commercial Launch Planned for Early 2027
Odaily: Google has launched a multi-party computation (MPC) custody platform designed to help banks and financial institutions safeguard cryptocurrency and tokenized assets. The platform distributes private key shares across different environments so that no single participant can hold the complete private key; before transactions are signed, it can also verify spending limits, approved addresses, and multi-party authorization requirements according to institutional rules.
The service is currently in private preview and is planned for commercial availability in early 2027. Google stated that several major financial institutions have participated in testing; Alphabet has already used the technology to secure its digital assets on Solana and Ethereum, but did not disclose the assets held or the list of institutions involved in testing.
