Hackers are using "ClickFix" attack methods to impersonate venture capital firms for cryptocurrency scams
Odaily News According to a latest report from cybersecurity company Moonlock Lab, hackers are using the "ClickFix" attack method to impersonate venture capital firms for cryptocurrency scams. Scammers impersonate venture capital institutions like SolidBit, contact potential victims through LinkedIn, and guide them to click on fake meeting links and execute malicious code.
Simultaneously, the Chrome extension "QuickLens" has been hijacked to steal cryptocurrency wallet data and seed phrases. The "ClickFix" technique is particularly dangerous because it tricks users into executing malicious commands themselves, thereby bypassing conventional security protections. Security experts warn that such attacks have targeted multiple industries since 2024, affecting thousands of devices globally every day. (Cointelegraph)
