Cryptocurrency Market Plunges Across the Board, BTC Falls Below $67,000, ETH Drops Nearly 4%
According to SoSoValue data on March 2, the cryptocurrency market experienced a broad decline. Bitcoin (BTC) fell 2.21% over 24 hours, dropping below $67,000; Ethereum (ETH) fell 3.92%, falling below $2,000. The SocialFi sector led the losses, down 6.25%. Within the sector, Toncoin (TON) fell 6.97%, and Chiliz (CHZ) fell 4.16%.
In other sectors, the CeFi sector fell 1.16% over 24 hours, with Cronos (CRO) down 3.47%; the DeFi sector fell 1.74%, although Hyperliquid (HYPE) rose 3.51%; the Layer1 sector fell 2.28%, with Zcash (ZEC) down 5.13%; the Layer2 sector fell 2.71%, with Starknet (STRK) within the sector down 6.06%; the PayFi sector fell 3.38%, with Dash (DASH) down 5.94%; the Meme sector fell 3.60%, with BUILDon (B) showing relative resilience, rising 1.97%.
The cryptocurrency sector indices reflecting historical sector performance showed that the ssiSocialFi, ssiAI, and ssiDePIN indices rose by 6.70%, 5.22%, and 4.72%, respectively.
