Odaily: Iran has refuted Trump's claim that the Strait of Hormuz has "returned to normal." Iran stated that even if shipping traffic increases again, it will still maintain full control over the strait, including shipping routes, schedules, permits, and navigation rules. Iran also said that no nuclear commitments were discussed and claimed that U.S. officials had told Tehran that Trump’s social media posts were primarily aimed at domestic media and political needs.

Odaily Planet Daily reported that the upcoming draft agreement includes: ending hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon; unfreezing billions of dollars in frozen Iranian funds; lifting the US maritime blockade and reopening the Strait of Hormuz; and the withdrawal of US forces from areas adjacent to Iran. Subsequently, both sides will have 30 days to reach an agreement on the nuclear issue, a deadline that can be extended by mutual consent. During these 30 days, passage through the strait will be facilitated. Iran has stated that the management of the Strait of Hormuz is a matter between Iran and Oman and is currently consulting with Oman.

Odaily reported that Trump stated on social media that he had "very good calls" from the Oval Office with leaders of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, and others regarding the Iran issue and a peace memorandum of understanding. Trump said that the agreement has been essentially negotiated and awaits finalization by the United States, Iran, and other relevant countries. He added that his call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was also "equally very smooth." The final details of the agreement are being discussed and will be announced soon. Trump specifically pointed out that, among other elements of the agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened.

Odaily News, According to a report by Axios on the 23rd, a US official familiar with the matter stated that the United States and Iran are close to reaching an agreement aimed at ending the conflict, with the remaining differences primarily focused on the "wording" of several key clauses. However, the official also emphasized that US President Trump has not yet made a final decision and could still veto the agreement and order new strikes against Iran. (Xinhua)

Odaily reported that Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baghaei said in an interview with IRIB on the 23rd that the current focus of negotiations is on ending the "imposed war," without delving into nuclear issues for now, and Iran and the US are working hard to finalize a memorandum of understanding. Baghaei stated that the current phase of negotiations does not involve nuclear issues or the specific details of corresponding sanctions relief. However, Iran's demands for lifting sanctions, especially releasing frozen assets, have been clearly written into the text of the 14-article memorandum of understanding.
He said that the reason Iran is not delving into nuclear issues at this stage is because it believes nuclear issues have twice been used as a pretext for waging war against Iran. Currently, Iran is focusing on promoting the end of the war on "all fronts," including Lebanon, and may enter negotiations on nuclear issues in the next phase, 30 or 60 days later. Odaily Odaily reports that U.S. President Donald Trump has convened a meeting with his national security team. No formal decision has been made on launching a new military strike against Iran, but he expressed a willingness to give diplomatic negotiations "more time." According to the Wall Street Journal, citing multiple U.S. officials, Trump was briefed on relevant dialogues underway in Iran and stated he wants to give diplomacy "more time," while reserving the option of a military strike if talks break down.
The report said mediators are pushing forward with diplomatic consultations. The current urgent goal is not to reach a formal U.S.-Iran agreement, but first to finalize a document similar to a memorandum of understanding, aimed at extending the ceasefire and setting a framework for further negotiations. The two sides are currently deadlocked over which issues should be included in the negotiation framework and which should be left for later discussion.
According to U.S. officials, if this limited agreement still cannot be reached, the U.S. and Israel could launch short-term military strikes against Iran within days to pressure Tehran into making concessions. Currently, some of Trump's advisors and conservatives believe that limited strikes on Iran could give the U.S. more bargaining leverage. (Xinhua News Agency)
