On April 8, Hong Kong time, the world's first theme summit focusing on the cutting-edge development and technical discussion of Bitcoin Layer 2, "Bitcoin Layer 2 Conference Hong Kong 2024 - East & West", held at the Charles Kao Conference Center in Hong Kong Science Park, came to a successful conclusion.
This groundbreaking offline event focused on building a communication bridge between the core builders and emerging forces of the global Bitcoin ecosystem through the form of "East & West Dialogue". At the meeting, many heavyweight industry leaders and technology experts gathered together with Bitcoin Layer 2 developers and enthusiasts to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and deeply participate in the important narrative of Web3!
01 Conference Review
As one of the key theme summits of the "2024 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival", this summit invited more than 60 innovative thinkers from the Bitcoin ecosystem in the East and West to participate in the event; at the same time, it also attracted more than 600 developers and enthusiasts who focus on Bitcoin Layer 2 to attend the conference, as well as more than 100 capital parties, project parties, security institutions, technical communities, media and surrounding resources from around the world. The gathering of multiple forces jointly contributed to the success of this summit!

The summit was initiated by BTC Security Lab, a research institution dedicated to Bitcoin ecological security, and sponsored by BEVM, the first fully decentralized EVM-compatible Bitcoin Layer 2 network. It was hosted by ScaleBit, a blockchain security team under BitsLab, and professional Web3 information service platform Web3CN, and co-organized by HashKey Capital, BiHelix, Techub News, and Hong Kong Science Park. 【Keynote 1】
In his opening speech, Paul Li, co-founder of ScaleBit, first extended a warm welcome to all participants and gave a comprehensive overview of the highlights and vision of the summit, thus kicking off the Bitcoin Layer 2 Hong Kong Theme Summit. Patrick Zhou, Senior Business Development Manager of Hong Kong Science Park, introduced Hong Kong's significant advantages in Web3 and the support and services that Hong Kong Science Park can provide.
【Keynote 2】
Jullian Duran, product manager of Marathon Digital Holdings, took the theme of "A New Multichain Vision for Bitcoin" and introduced ANDURO's multichain solution and multiple sidechains such as COORDINATE and ALYS.
【Keynote 3】
Rena Shah, Vice President of Products and Operations at Trust Machines, focused on the technical dimensions and layout of Bitcoin Layer 2 with the theme of "Bringing Bitcoin to a Billion People with Bitcoin L2s", and highlighted the progress of Ordinals and Stacks.
【Keynote 4】
Babylon co-founder and CTO Fisher Yu shared a technical speech covering Bitcoin Layer 2, Bitcoin Staking, and BTC PoW on the theme of "Bitcoin Staking for L2s", and concluded that Babylon is a protocol suite that brings BTC security, users, and liquidity to Layer 2.
【Keynote 5】
BEVM Marketing Director Hakan Sezikli gave an in-depth introduction to BEVM Stack and DBFX Protocol under the theme of "BEVM: An EVM-compatible Bitcoin Layer 2 based on Taproot Consensus", and shared BEVM's development roadmap, technical architecture and ecosystem.

Luke Vinci, co-founder of Zulu Network, gave a comprehensive introduction to Zulu Network's solutions for the innovative development of the Bitcoin ecosystem with the theme of "Zulu Network, Bitcoin Layer 2 for An Open Future", and focused on its unique architecture and vision.

MVC committee member Rachel Tsang gave a speech titled "MVC: The Revolutionary Sidechain of Bitcoin". She talked about how MVC, as an open source sidechain, has outstanding performance in the Bitcoin ecosystem, and introduced its technological innovations and user cases.

Gimmy, co-founder of Satoshi Protocol, took the topic of "Satoshi Protocol: Why CDP Stablecoin on Bitcoin L2" and used stablecoin as the entry point for his keynote speech. He shared the significant features of Bitcoin Layer 2, CDP style, and ERC-20 format, and summarized the current progress of Satoshi Protocol.

ScaleBit blockchain researcher Zorrot Chen discussed the current situation of Bitcoin ecosystem developers and the changes after the Taproot upgrade under the theme of "We Choose the Hard Way: Developing in the Bitcoin Ecosystem", and proposed the open source repository Tapscript Lib.

Brendon Wann, founder and chief architect of BitReXe, took the theme of "Parallel Smart Contract Layer on Bitcoin: Drawing Lessons from Ethereum" and used scalability as the entry point to introduce two key points of BitReXe: Deterministic Parallelization and First-Class Assets.

In the project demonstration session, 11 popular projects focusing on the innovative development of the Bitcoin ecosystem gave keynote speeches on the theme of "Bitcoin Layer 2 is Raising".
