Odaily reported that, according to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, Iranian military spokesperson Akraminia stated on Sunday that, based on the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, the responsibility for managing maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz lies with Iran.

He stated that the United States is attempting to impose an unauthorized shipping route in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz, which violates its commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. He pointed out that Washington has a long history of failing to fulfill its international commitments, and the same problem exists in the current understanding reached between the US and Iran.
